Hey, all,

This was an old, really old thread for an at-that-time 300g tank and room.

The old tank was discarded as well as everything in my system as my wife had talked me out of it. I was miserable about it for several years afterwards and now I’m back in the hobby!

This post is a placeholder as there are no pictures yet.

However, the new build planned is a 72 x 48 x 28 freestanding tank with center overflow.

The new tank will be acrylic, and will be plumbed for an oceans motion six way to provide circulation in the tank without anything unsightly hanging on the outside walls. This will be a closed loop system for circulation.

The 8 inch granite shelf around the edges still planned.

The lighting over the display tank and the frag tank will be Phillips.

Hang out and check in occasionally, I’ll update it as things happen.

Here's the layout.

The sump and ATO are under the workbench. The skimmer, reactors, etc. are on top of the bench over the sump.

The sumps for the frag and QT tanks are under the bench and are not shown. Squares on the floor are tile.

FYI, the following is tossed out here for your consideration.

Controls by Neptune.
Lighting by Phillips
All tanks are running UV.
The DT and the frag tank have their own sumps, dosing units, and Apex controllers. The frag system Apex will also monitor the QT tanks.
The water change on the DT is automatic. Water from the changes will be used to do the water changes and fills when necessary for the QT tanks.
Skimmers, reactors, etc by Reef Octopus.

We are hoping to partner with Jennifer and Jeremy at Aquarium Artisans in Cincinnati for the tanks. If the price comes in at budget, all acrylic work will be by Titan Aquatics via Aquarium Artisans.
