I just looked at the pics again that should be fine, for some reason I thought there was more rock against the glass than there was. Yeah narrower tanks suck to scape. This is all from experience my 29 (my first reef tank) was just a rock pile that touched three sides and was always kind of a pain.

Haha yeah I figured a 29 would be a PITA so that's why I'll be setting up a 20 long over the 29

I think the deeper tanks would be more fun to scape maybe some day I will have something that's like 24 inches deep.

Anyone else have opinions of my scape? I don't really want to break the rock apart but if it means a possible better scape I'm def game.

Looks good :D
I would keep it that way!

Thank you :) I was relieved how much space i was able to create in the 55gal with the rock. It took time but I was able to get it in and leave plenty of space for the fish to swim.

Did you get it filled yet?

Unfortunately no, I just got back from class around 7:45. Than I actually had to return a metal stand i bought from my LFS. Reason was I moved my planted 55gal into my bedroom and needed a stand for it, I figured a metal one would be fine except it was very wobbly. I wound up going to PETCO and picking up a 40Breeder and Stand there for 100 bucks and returning the stand ( well for store credit because i lost the receipt ) Its okay i needed salt anway, still have an extra 20 bucks on the card.

Anyway.. I do have the RO/DI unit but in order to hook it up I need to get a few things from a hardware store and mount it on the wall. Than hopefuly tomorrow night things will get going..

Question, add the Live rock the day after I add the water/salt? right?

Sweet! Now get it full and start the cycle so that you can wait some more.... I know how that feels in the middle of my cycle now. Hope all is going flawlessly.

Realized major mess up, did not add salt before ro water.. spend a great deal of time slowly adding it in but I have two 400gph powerheads running

I'm going to finish filling tomorrow than the sump will be going hopefully exactly how I plan.

leak in return line :tsk: may try to switch the whole return system to hose instead of pvc with elbows. that may have been my mistake since there is pressure. I actually should research that now.. which i never did ughhh

Leak was not from return but it was from the bulkhead for my overflow. Used aquarium silicone and its good to go. Dry floor since than.

As of a few days ago have whole system rocking and rolling, skimmer is running and added 5 pounds of tukani live rock to seed the dry. Finally cycle is in process. Only 5.5 weeks to go.

Still have a canopy to make , going to run a track light with par38's from rapidled

What cycling method are you using? Just going to use the die off from the LR? My cycle is on day 17.
