Keeping apex inside stand.

I see that most people keep their apex or other controllers inside their stands. I'm upgrading to a 120 gallon with 40 gallon sump this weekend and want to make everything as neat as possible. Anyone have any water damage it corrosion issues with keeping a controller inside a stand with the sump?

Just needs to be a well vented area and no chance of water splash on it
