Keeping Multiple Species of Cardinalfish?

Can I keep multiple species of cardinalfish of different genus' together?

I am going to restart my 60 gallon tank.

So, in my 60 gallon aquarium, would it be reasonable to try a mix of cardinalfish species?

For example, a single bangaii, either a group or a single of pajama cardinalfish, one of another species such as a flame cardinalfish?

My plan is to keep the lighting somewhat dim overall and perhaps keep a wetmorella wrasse or a liopropoma basslet as well.

Any other suggestions for fish that fit this aquarium as well would he greatly appreciated!

If anyone knows a relatively easy NPS coral or some nocturnal inverts as well it would be much appreciated as well. I have some ideas but for the most part no plan is finalized.

I keep Long Spine Cardinal and Flame Cardinal in the same tank with no issues. They’re pretty docile. They hang out with my 12 blue/green Chromis a lot. Other times they hang out in shade areas. Best of luck

Got it. So, my plan is to keep 2-3 individuals of 2-3 species in a 60g. Other inhabitants are 2 ocellaris Clownfish and a melanurus wrasse.
I am thinking of a single bangaii, a single pajama cardinal, and a single of either the flame cardinal or yellow... this is subject to change, however.

I understand that pajamas like to be in groups, but that appears to work out better in larger tanks with larger groups than I have room for.

I have one bangaii and 4 yellow line cardinals . Looking for more species to add in a 125g . Each species seems to have different demeanor . As they mature they will usually pair off and then others that will be left in a corner . There are some that will never school in mass as adults , it seems that way with my 2 species . There are usually pecking orders amongst different species and within the species themselves . I have seen that in LFS and in my tank . Bangaii seems to dominate in his space when the 4 lined come into his sphere . I wish I knew the answer to your question . I can only add my experience with them . The pajamas do seem to school together as I have seen them in a LFS . The juvenile bangaii s also school until they start to pair off and claim their territory . So a large tank is necessary to give them space to retreat if you’re trying different species .

Got it. Would individuals of different species fight if they are not from the same genus?
