Looking to possibly try out a kessil a350w over a 40b. Ran a 150 over my biocube and loved it, but it wasn't for long enough to determine much of anything and at the time I only had lps and such.

So basically I would like to hear first hand experiences from a350w users who have been running them for a decent amount of time(say 6+ months) particularly those who have a fair amount of sps.

1+ year with a single a350w on our 60g cube

That's awesome. Have you found there's just some things you can't really grow? Heard several kessil users complain they had a hard time with a mixed reef cause it would either kill torches and such or not grow sps.

And here is our 180g mixed reef, changed from 3 400 w mh to 3 kessil a350n hanging 2ft above

How long have you been running the kessils on the big tank and what were your most noticeable differences when switching?

i run 2 kessill a 350's over my 40b (not the 350w) and i noticed that the lps and softies did fine but my sps acro's was mixed results, some grew great but most of them grew ultra slow and hard a hard time encrusting etc. i added 2 actanic blue and 2 actanic+ blues for supplement lighting and now all of them grow well. i have a mix of sps, lps, softies, sponges and all do good now. if i had it to do over again i would not buy the kessills as they are expensive and i feel there are a lot of better full spectrum led lighting options (i would buy 1 radion pro gen2 if i had it to do over again. would of actually saved money over buying the 2 kessills with the goosnecks and then the supplemental lighting). my tank is about 1 1/2 years old. my inexperience, impatience, and not getting good advise from my LFS led to a lot of expensive lessons, but now i know what NOT to do-lol. good luck reefing

The 180g is our display tank, at our retail store. It has been running with the kessils for clse to 2 years now. Biggest mistake was running them 100% and bleaching a lot of corals ( lps and sps) juat with switching over to any new light, i believe you have a adjustment period. Some corals do not seem to fair as well such as some of the birdsnest species, i have to run th near the bottom of the tank. Grow rate is a.little slower with sps imo, but i save over $700 on electricity every month, so i will take that sacrifice, any day...lol
