Hey guys, so lighting my 90 gallon reef, i have an orphek Pr-156 fixture supplemented with A360Ws on each side. I originally was going to run the kessils alone but i felt they werent sufficient enough for sps. I may be wrong as this is my first time owning kessils. So i added my orphek fixture which does grow SPS amazingly. The orphek hangs about 18 inches above the water and the kessils about 8 inches above the water . At the moment im running the Kessils with the spectral controller. Starting at 5 percent color and 50 intensity in the morning , ramping up to 60 percent color and 70 intensity in the afternoon , and then back down to 5 percent color and 50 percent intensity before they turn off. I feel the kessils should maybe be more intense but im worried to bleach out corals. My orphek fixture is only on for 5 hours then the kessils do the rest of the day. Now i notice when the orphek turn off that the corals seem to begin to want to close like if they feel its night time even though the kessils are still on. Should i increase intensity to prevent this from happening ? What lighting schedule( color and intensity) should i be running with the kessils? What you guys think ?

I had the same question with 2-360we over my 75. I wrote to Kessil and this is what they sent me. They use this on a mixed reef at Kessil.
8:00. 0% color. 10% intensity
10:00. 20% color. 50% intensity
12:00. 50% color. 100% intensity
14:00. 65% color. 100% intensity
16:00. 40% color. 50% intensity
18:00 0%. Color. 0% intensity

I've been using this since March. Softies LPS and a clam.
So far they all like it

Come on .... the intensity of any light is a function of the water depth. Typical 90 gallon tank is 24” tall, so intensity of 70% seems about right to me. I had one over a 12” tall tank, and 70% would have fried everything. Intensity settings are useless without also saying water depth. On my big tank, 30” tall, I run mine to 90%.

I too have been having issues getting my a360w-e set correct. Im running a IM ATO 25 gallon Lagoon. I have both light and intensity set below 50% for the cycle. Hope im not intruding on your thread. I Have had some coral for 6 months now with no growth and I see a decline in some of the new ones I added recently. I just checked my water last night and it falls within "normal" (i know i know, ill post specific numbers tomorrow) parameters. I also do 25% water changes once a week to keep the water in check. currently its just shrimp and a torch (which is doing good) and some frags that are stagnant. I lost my tang and both clown last week while i was away for work and my house sitter said everything was fine all week. I did notice ammonia was .5 and nitrate was like 40 when i got home so i did a 8 gallon water change.
