Kessil a360xe Light settings for 150g mixed reef

Hello don’t have a par meter… maybe something for a future purchase to refine settings as I add more later.
But for now just looking to see what people are running on their a360xe?

The preset seems good enough but not sure if anyone has other recommended settings.

Minimal coral population at the moment, hand full of zoas and cloves mostly in lower portion of the tank. Few fish too.
Tanks been running 4months.
Looking to start adding more in near future once we work out a few other issues.

Current 12hr lights on, max intensity is 70

For a 150-gallon mixed reef tank, the Kessil A360XE is a powerful LED light, and you'll want to adjust your settings to achieve a balanced spectrum for both corals and fish. Here's a general starting point for your setup:

Light Settings:
1. Intensity (Peak Power):
- Daytime (Full Lighting): Start around 50-60% intensity. This can be fine-tuned based on your corals' needs and how deep the tank is.
- Sunrise/Sunset Ramp: Ramp the intensity gradually up to 100% during peak hours, and back down at sunset. This helps create a natural day-night cycle for the tank.

2. Spectrum (Color Settings):
- Blend of Blue and White: For a mixed reef, a good starting point would be around **80-90% Blue and 10-20% White (this can be adjusted based on your tank’s needs).
- Blue Channel: 80-90%
- White Channel: 10-20%
- UV and Red Channels: You can keep these channels around 10-20%, adjusting slightly based on coral coloration and growth. Higher red can enhance coral coloration.

3. Photoperiod (Day Length):
- 12-hour Photoperiod is typical for mixed reefs:
- Full lighting (Intensity up to 100%): Around 6 hours
- Dawn/Dusk (Ramp Up/Down): Start the ramping at 1-2 hours before and after the full lighting phase.
- Moonlight Phase: Set a low intensity for the night period (~1-5%).

Other Considerations:
- Coral Type: Adjust intensity for SPS (higher) or LPS/Soft corals (lower).
- Tank Depth: If your tank is deeper, you may need to increase intensity to ensure proper light penetration, especially for the lower corals.
- Aesthetics: If you want a more blue tank look, increase the blue percentage, but be cautious of too much blue that could hinder coral growth.

Keep in mind that Kessil lights have the benefit of blending colors with their dense matrix LED array, so you’ll get smooth transitions without a sharp color break between channels. Always adjust based on the feedback you’re getting from your corals, as they will tell you if they’re happy with the setup.
