Kessil and mesh lids

I have a BRS mesh lid on my 75g. I was wondering if kessil light's shimmer effect is impacted with these style lids

A360we shimmer is still there.

Shimmer seems to be slightly reduced (10%?) with the stock Nuvo lid. Have no fear on losing the shimmer.
I feel like the colors pop a little better without the lid, but that might just be a slight intensity difference. I also think the white mesh reflects a lot of light and that black would be less distracting.
