i have everything i need for the connection. But now i watched a YouTube video for a basic setup i can do before work and i can’t seem to get how to set this up the way i want.

That’s the YouTube video i watched. I want to do sunrise ( start with blue ) and end the night in blue lights. I created the two profiles as shown in the video. And both lights seem to be doing their own thing. One is blue in the morning and the other white. If anyone could help. That would be great. Or if there is another walkthrough I Don’t know about that is more in-depth.

They should be synced no matter what you do. I would first check my connections and then power cycle the lights to reset the and try again. The apex programming is now much more simple what the heck the magic wand.

Can you show how you have the two lights connected? Sometimes the phono link cable is the problem if it's too long and the cable too thin. Also make sure you have the input/output sockets connected properly.

I'm guilty of this. Make sure your apex cable goes into the input of one light and then you have an output going out of that light's output and into the input of the next light. I had the cable accidentally into the output of the 2nd light so it ran at whatever the dials were turned to on the light.

I bought two separate plugs to go into the vdm module. So each light goes into it. Was it suppose to be just one ? And then both lights into each other?

I'm not an expert but you may not even need the VDM. The Apex Head Unit (depending on the model) I believe has a variable port if you're not already using it to run something else. I ran one plug out of my Apex Classic to the nearest Kessil's input. Then I ran a Kessil Unit link cable from the output of that light to the input of the next which basically makes it a slave to the first light.

Been a while since I set it up but if you're running 2 separate cables you might need 4 profiles, 2 for each cable that are essentially duplicates if you want them to behave the same. As I think each cable has 2 channels one for color and one for intensity. Or if one light is working as you desire, you could get a unit link cable and hook the 2nd up as a slave and sell your extra cable.

You just need to duplicate the programming to the other variable port that the other light is plugged into. Will work fine but requires 2 kessil cables, which IMO is a waste since a cheap 3.5mm phono cable is the simpler solution.

Ideally you’d have the apex to Kessil cable connected to the brain or VDM module and the input of light number one. Then a 3.5 mm stereo patch cable connecting output of light one to input of light two. Thus running the same program. You could use two apex to Kessil cables, one for each light, but then you use up an extra two variable ports .... and have to duplicate the program.

When programming, each Kessil light string uses two channels - on for color and a second for intensity.

Ok that makes sense. I set up two profiles for each light. One color for each and intensity. So 4 profiles in total. I just want it to be on the timer and go on and off when i need it to

So basically i could just have the two profiles. Minus one plug to the vdm. Add a plug going to kessil to kessil. And i will be fine.
What i mean with the two profiles. Just a basic set up.
