Kessil Unit link cable question

It seems to me that The Kessil unit link cable is just a aux cable. Is this true or is the unit link cable a proprietary cable that needs to be used with the kessils. $20-$30 just seems pricey to me. Thanks for the help!

Its just a regular aux cable. I bought one from walmart for 5 bucks and it works great!
