Hi

So I’ve been thinking about using a doser head to replenish the waste water taken out by each test. I then realized if I up the water used to 100ml
per test and do it 8 or even 12 times per day, I would have my self a built in water change schedule. I would simply empty the waste container once per month and fill up the other with salt water. Using 100ml would likely also be more accurate.

Any obvious down sides besides using more reagent and perhaps use the doser heads more?
I like to test alk a lot and can live with the cost. It’s not much in the grand scheme of things.

Cool. I’ll build it. Becoming a fan of more but smaller water changes.

My only suggestion, measure the actual amount of water that is used during a test. You will have the small amount of reagent in the waste, but I think you will have a little more than the 100ml you have the test amount set to.
Measure it several times to get an average.

Good point. Will do. Will also buy two transparent containers and mark them so I can roughly tell what goes in and out.

got whole sump set up with sensors as well so something off will quickly be detected.

love my ghl setup. Ion director next.

I jumped ship (APEX), so glad I did.

I debated Apex vs GHL for a while. But being in the EU, GHL is easily available and was put off by the apex power-bar used here. I also really want automated No3 testing. My LFS does carry both Apex and Ghl but they are phasing out Apex from the looks of it.

And we’re up and running. Need to build something to hide the stuff next to the tanks. Though the nerd in me likes to look at it. Got another doser in the sump as well for the other stuff.
