Kids in LFS?

My son is 3 and likes going to the fish store. So we go as a family once or twice a month and I look for something to buy and my husband to show the fish to my son. My son does not touch tanks or supplies, my husband carries him the whole time. But he does get excited by the fish and talks excitedly about the fish. Inevitably even if we are the only people in the store by time I'm looking for someone to pull a frag or invert for me and I can't find them. Until of course they go up to my husband and ask what he is looking to buy and he tells them to go ask his wife. And then they find me.

So do they not want kids in the store? We live in a big metro and this happens in basically every single fish store. We've been to around 6 and some multiple times. My tank has been operating for 15 months so its not just a handful of visits.

I'm just sort of baffled by it.

I don't think it has anything to do with your son....I think it is just more common for men to be in the hobby then women. If they see a family, right or wrong, they probably assume the male is the one with the tank and the woman/son were dragged along (like I often do with my wife and kids lol).
