Hello Reefers! I am back in the game!
Long story short, I moved and had to take down my reef. I made a lot of mistakes on my last build including fish selection, coral selection, and equipment. We all learn through our mistakes, and when possible, learn from others.
I'm happy to report that the lessons are put in good use this time around. I always love the clean, minimalist reef. It's not natural looking, but it is aesthetically pleasing to me when things are less clutter within the tank. The same concept applies with placement of equipment and etc. I can't stand see wires everywhere. It takes away the appeal of the sump area, which I also enjoy looking at.
Aquascaping... I may offend some people here but here it goes. I think most of us reefers are terrible at aquascaping. The plant tank dudes are far ahead with this than we are. Those plant tanks are serious work of art! I get most of my inspirations from searching the web for good examples from that community. So, how did I apply that with a reef tank? I went with dry tonga branches from BRS as base rock pieces. After a lot of super glue and zipties, I came up with something that I can take pride in. It's not 100% original, but I think it stands fairly unique within the SPS community.
Enough of the blah blah blah... Here are the pictures. I will continue to post pictures as the tank progresses.
Ok, I can't load pics from google pics directly on to here. Here's the link to the album. I figure it out later.
