My Kole tang has a dark patch on it has been this way for a long time just wondering if anyone has seen something like this.

Such a perfect video, yet hard to see on my phone
Often patches are bacterial and can stem from water quality, poor diet or injury
Assure ammonia and nitrate are not elevated and fish is not a victim to aggression

my guess was injury as well but it’s been a couple months and hasn’t gotten better or worse. Was thinking it may just be his natural color because it’s not blotchy or raised. Doesn’t look like rock scrapes or fish bites. It is one of three tangs.
Salinity 1.025
Phosphate .1
Nitrate 15-20
Alk 10
Cal 460
Mag 1400
All extremely stable
Feed nls algae max pellets
Reef nutrition flakes
Nori 2 times a day red and green
DIY seafood mix every other day
Feed extremely heavy
Fish list
Emp angel
Huma huma
Brown bird wrasse
Two clowns constantly spawning
African flameback angel
Desjardini
Powder brown
And the kole tang
Very minimal aggression noticed and that’s usually between the desjardini and powder brown
Fish is still eating aggressively and breathing is completely normal.
Not really concerned with its health just wondered if it’s something others have seen. He’s been in my care around 5 years got him around 2.5” and now it’s around 4.5”.

Sorry, I can't see the patch in the video. Could be from a coral sting or other injury, but the two month timeline is rather long. If there are no secondary symptoms, I wouldn't worry about it.

It’s kind an upside down v or mountain shape. It’s strange that it’s just color nothing else irregular about it.

O.k., I can see it now. Unlikely to be a parasite, as those are usually more randomly distributed. I can’t tell you what the cause of that is. There is a syndrome that is similar called tang fingerprint or thumbprint disease. You might try searching for that here to see if anything matches up.
