I had a colony of LA Lakers that I split up into several frags. My frag now isn't opening and has been closed for the past 2 months.
I tried coral dips, moving them from up high to down lowwww, water movement, nothing.
The polyps are closed but you can see the yellow thru the closed polyps. They aren't melting and seem the same from the first day they closed to now.

Any advice?

Just leave them be. As long as they aren't melting (still appear puffy), they should make an eventual recovery. I've had zoas closed for months at a time, kinda forgot about them, and lo-and-behold they started opening again and slowly returned to normal. They can still photosyntheysize and take in dissolved solids even when they're closed. So, no worries. It'll just be a eye sore for a little while. Yes, leave them in lower light and medium flow. Don't pick at them, move, touch, or dip them again unless they start to have algae issues. Even then, it's best to leave them alone unless the algae gets out of control. The less you mess with them the better. Hopefully, your CUC can help you out on that end.

Just give them time. They are currently 1-5, with a current loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

It may take the LA Lakers a little longer to open up.

Be patient.

Josh, you wouldn't be saying that if Lebron wasn't on yourteam.

Lets just see if Lebron can win not1, not 2, not 3 championships like he claims.

Oh and lets hope Bosh doesn't cry like a baby if they lose this year.

And lets hope that my zoas open back up.

GuvNa, I hope your LA Lakers zoa opens up too. Just keep them in an area with low flow and make sure to remove any algae on the frag.

Go Lakers and hopefully Phil Jackson returns as soon as Mike D loses the next 3 games.

Go Lakers in & out of the tank. I have Magician Palys who haven't oponed since moving into another tank. I hope they open back up. I'll just wait and see.

I also have issues keeping la lakers. All my other zoos are doing just fine
I know this is an old thread, however I have tried several different frag‘s of the LA Lakers. I cannot get them to open up. I keep others very successfully. But for some reason have an issue with these. Anyone have any suggestions?
