Lawnmower blenny trouble

Has anyone experienced their lawnmowers perching on coral frags and swimming around certain ones causing them to close? Well mine does. Very annoying. Had it for 2 ish months. Have noticed zoas, Duncan and hammer sometimes seem to be retracted. I’m almost certain it’s the blenny. No problems before this. Have watched it close up a coral. Is this a common issue or am I on crack lol

My Starry Blenny perches mainly on this Acan, but does perch wherever and on whatever he pleases… but who could be annoyed with this face?

Man they are asshats it’s only soft corals mostly tho

100% normal behavior. I have a Clown Goby named Bozo in my office nano who sits on his favorite acan every day and does the same. The corals will open back up and not be affected at all.

Maybe I’m wrong but I feel like mine killed my Duncan. Thing was doing so great had 4 new heads sprouting then shortly after getting the blenny the base went from green to white. Doesn’t open 100% like it used to

Perching won't hurt the coral, just cause it's closed doesn't mean it's a problem. I wouldn't do anything about it, my starry blenny does the same thing.

I have a problem with fish who mess with my corals. I have always stayed away from them, no matter how cool or cute.

It probably cleaned film algae off the coral, white is a normal color for coral skeletons. The blenny pecking at the skeleton could have caused some temporary irritation, it should recover. :)

unfortunately, they are busy-bodies and spend part of the day perching on rock and pounding on rocks for calcium and with intent on harm to corals, they need them for nutrition also. It is a core belief these are pure algae eaters but need mainly meaty foods in their diet supplemented with algae
