This sump is part of the used package deal that I got.

I am trying to figure out if the previous owner built this correctly.

Left to right:
intake from DT. (he had a Skimmer and heaters in this chamber.)
Refungium.
Baffles
Return to DT/ATO

* In the Pic the first two Chambers look like they're divided in half but they are not and yes I need to clean it*

If this is not setup correctly how is it supposed to be set up?

Thanks!!

Swap the refugeium to the first chamber, skimmer and heaters in the second. If you have room add one more baffle after the sump raised off the bottom. This will help keep prolong the time the proteins in the water are in the skimmer area.

Looks good to me . It's a good basic sump. Ya got the sock holder. Which You can use or not depending. water gets skimmed maybe not all. Some raw gets thru the refugium good is for the macro ,then baffles to take care of any micro bubbles before the return. I like it ! Ya got the skimmer & return pump? If not, be sure the skimmer will fit with a little extra room . Is that the display tank behind? 40 gl maybe?

He gave me the return pump that he was using. Also gave me a cheaply priced skimmer NIB, But it had no pump and after finding the skimmer on ebay and reading reviews, I will not be using it. I have a Bubble Magus Curve 5 in my Marine Depot shopping cart along with sand, test kit, Salt, etc.

I am currently fretting over the height of the stand to build. I want plenty of room inside the stand to work, But only place to put tank is where my living room window is. The base of the bay window is 49in above the floor.

Not sure how big the sump is.... The DT behind it is a 125 gallon.

Cool lot bigger that I thought . Make sure you have the foot print & room above for a new skimmer ! looking forward to see the build.

I agree ^

Only other thing i see is id drop the sock down if you are going to run one because of it clogs or foams up and overflows it will be all over your stand
