These all look great. Wish I could share one but the only shrooms I ever tried melted lol.. Only coral I haven't been able to keep

Maybe giving them too much light or flow mine open up in low flow low light areas, my rhodactis pictured above is over 3" across when I got it a few months back it only covered a 1" frag plug.

+1, low to medium light and low flow...
 
Here is one of mine. I have many throughout my tank all have different colors. I have had these for over 10 years in 4 different reef tanks.

Mine was really happy looking and then one of my hermits knocked its plug over. I put it back but he never opened all the way, eventually detached and then just turned to goop

Doesnt sound like anything you did wrong I would try them again. I've lost coral to clumsy cuc as well, it didn't stop me.
