To be honest I'd go with it. Your within the lines on both levels. If the tank is parallel with the floor it's perfectly fine. It's when there is a uneven surface causing a twist that is a problem. I think sometimes people go a bit overboard when trying to level a tank.

I would put the top on the stand and the leveling mat (if there is a top & mat) and set the tank and then put the level across the tank and see where your’re at. That front brace bar seems is causing the top to lift up a little bit, underweight it will probably all even out. The only thing that would concern me is if you put that 4 foot level across lengthwise and it rocks between the middle braces and end braces causing a pressure point in the center, but I don’t know if you have a full surface top to go on top of that frame. Either way I would set the tank on there with the mat and the top and I might even fill it half full of water and check it and adjust accordingly. It’s not terrible terrible out of level

Honestly everything is overthought. There is too much information available to all of us, and too many rabbit holes to go down. To top it all off there are just way too many options available at an arms reach today. Thank the internet for giving us all level 5 anxiety over 1/16 bubble off

I am glad you are almost there.

I did mine the over thinking method for these reasons. Had a 180 gallon system on carpet in living room. Beautiful system. Carpet needed changed out. old dogs and carpet became nasty. So I decided to get a new tank. New carpet, paint job and furniture. Tiled under new tank. Now when I want to change things up the tank won't be an issue. But I have a handy husband and I like tiling. So it was fun. And my Copper Band is the star.

It's amazing how easy people forget. This post is a perfect example. 4 pages on trying to level a tank thats already better than 99% of the aquariums set up.

One thing that someone suggested to me - get it close to level to start, then fill it (at least partially) and let it sit for a week or two to see how it settles. Then re-level after that.

I got these airbags and they helped with my sanity - as I've got 16 levelling feet on my tank, so it was a pain trying to get everything level.

Even with 250kg of tank/stand/partial water, I was able to use two of them to get enough clearance to get under there and turn the feet.

Those are the shims I used.
Shimming with anything on carpet is tough. Ideally you could remove it, but I know that’s not typically something most people would want to do.

I would probably set the feet at the midpoint, add shims to level, fill with water, the adjust the feet as needed. That way you won’t be struggling to insert shims between the carpet and the feet with 1000 pounds of weight setting on them.

I can attest; idky id want a carpet after housing a mega tank on it - but yet the family doesn’t see the same light.

Because of this we have a tank that is marginally unlevel yet gives enough paranoia I want to fix it.

Problem with carpet? It condenses. Maybe not the same problem as legged stands. But if I was to put shims in one corner with a plywood bottom stand, the carpet would just flatten more at that pressure point - not fixing the issue as easily or accurately

With the rubber id say no. The rubber may crack and/or seperate under the pressure.
Better would be steel bottom.

This is not making any sense for me. I can’t find a single m6 feet on the market that’s heavy duty. How in the world is waterbox using m6 bolts if they dont hold weight im super confused

I went with these, which I did have to cut down a little bit to not bottom out in the aluminum extrusions. The rear of my tank needed to be completely screwed in, and the front needed to be just far out enough that I didn’t feel super comfortable with the stock feet. I probably only went about 1/8” further than I would have with the stock feet, but I have substantially more threads actually in the stand itself for comfort.

I have the same aquarium as you (not yet filled), but I’m not convinced you really need “heavy duty” as I wouldn’t say the stock ones are really all that heavy duty. But someone may come in and point out how what I’m doing is a horrible idea :p
