So I don’t dos at all and I just got my Neptune trident on my new tank for a while I was thinking my hanna checkers were wrong but they match with these results why are they so high I don’t understand I keep my Salinity at 36ppm and haven’t done a water change in 4 weeks I also use the red salt commercial bag
I understand my alk Is in the right range but how did calcium and magnesium get so high

I've requested to have this moved to the chemistry forum.

How do you measure salinity? Is it calibrated?

There really not that high though? I was expecting 700+/2000+. Some people keep there levels like that on purpose, what is your hanna saying?

And yes that pH was scary lol

Oh I misread, those levels are perfectly fine imo. Calcium is maybe a little high but no I would not try to lower them.

Do you keep your tank at 36ppt? Im not aware of a ppm salt measurement, correct me if Im wrong. But 36ppt is too high and also contributing to the elevated levels.
