i am pretty new to the hobby and after a fish a bought from an lfs died they asked for water samples. What container would be the best to use? also how much water do they normally want?

btw when i tested i didn't find anything wrong and they had two of the fish stocked and the one in store died around the same day

Anything clean. Maybe rinse it once with RO before tank water
