Alright, Not sure if this is where I wanna post this or not. If this type of thread isnt accepted. Feel free to delete or do whatever.

Anyway. Back in October. I ordered a custom fish tank. This is the 2nd tank I have ordered from the Fish store, and its made from the same place. Anyway. I was told a week or 2. Which was about the same amount of time that it took to have my first tank built. They are a reputabale builder, and alot of you own there tanks.

Anyways, I had a few questions on the tank, So I called the Manufacture directly. I asked them if they could tell me which size bulkheads I needed, and how thick the glass was. He went on to rattle off that the tank had 2 drains, 2 returns and such. I Knew that wasnt right, so I gave him the dimensions of the tank I placed the order for, and he stated that he gave the fish store the quote back and hasnt heard back from them, (Keep in mind this was 10 days AFTER my credit card was charged.). When I called the fish store, they told me that the manufacture thought they couldnt tell me anything about my tank. Well thats a lie because they told me about a DIFFERENt tank that the fish store had ordered. So basicalyl after I called the fish store my tank got ordered. So first week or 2 of November. 2 weeks ago the tank was "supposed" to be in and of course, it wasn't. Anyway, Its supposed to be in this week. . I have been thinking about a chargeback. Anyone think I'm out of line with that? Placing order on Oct. 24th, credit card was charged that day, and 10 days after the fact, the manufacture hadnt even received the OK to start making it?

I realize a custom tank takes a little longer, but the first tank was right on time. My new tank is under 70 gallons. The tank I have now is over 80 gallons.

I think the LFS dropped the ball for sure. Did they give you a guaranteed delivery date in writing? I'd be frustrated for sure but people make mistakes all the time and this one is only costing you a delay of time and an exercise of patience. At most, you could ask the store manager for a small gift card or store credit to help offset your frustrations. If you're really mad and never want to deal with them again you could refuse delivery and make a claim on your credit card but that will only cause anxiety for everyone including you. The best option is probably to wait patiently and let it blow over. Other than a couple week delay in your new build nothing bad has happened.

Yah! What Duane (trido) said and I would definitely ask for some type of compensation once picked up, couldn't hurt and would make you feel better/more appreciated for supporting their business. If a No Go then time to find and support another.

Cheers, Todd

I try to support the LFS, but the closest saltwater store to me is them... I will strictly make my purchases online from now on, even if it costs more. Atleast, I will know I will receive good customer service, and receive my stuff in a timely manner to my door instead of having to drive.

There was nothing in writing. It's hard to let it blow over, beings the fact I got lied to, and My order wasnt placed till 10 days After my card was charged. That's a little much. Quick to charge your card, and after that, who cares is basically how it goes.

Definetly more than set me back. I placed the order only because of the time frame I was given. I will be out of town at the end of this week, and I have no idea when I'll be back. Basically I wanted to have this up and running before christmas so the cycle could happen while I was gone, than when I got back It'd be time to stock it..
