lid/mesh screen options

I'm considering my options for a lid on this tank. The tank maker gave me two lids with it (they aren't white that is just a protective film). I'm considering making a cutout on the right side for my auto feeder and cutting a spot on the left lid and putting some hinges on it so I don't have to lift the whole lid. What do you guys think of this plan or what else would you do with these lids? I'm really not a huge fan of screen top lids tbh.

Honestly, I'd drill some holes in it for gas exchange. Then add a feeding ring thing. Something that can easily be added, wouldn't take much.
