I am just over a week into starting up my system. Everything is running very well, then I did a little movement in the tank (reasons from a last post about the Phosban in the tank) and I noticed a brown/tan colored substance in the neck of my skimmer and on my filter sock I put over my media reactor. I thought it was a collection of sand because like I said, I moved some sand around, (very fine, light sand). I went to clean it out and it was slimy. I dont kbow what it is. Yesterday was the first day I put in "Microscope" to decrease cycle time. But would that have anything to do with it? I can't recall if the slime was here before I added the supplement. Please help!

New start, those would be Diatoms. Nothing to worry about, possibly some Cyano thrown in the mix. Happens in new tanks.
