Lighting and flow

Hi everyone, I’m new here, I have a 32 gallon tide line AIO I am looking for advice on flow and lighting. As of now I have a VCN random flow generator and have downloaded a few AI 16 prime presets. My tank has quite a few corals and just a few fish.

Looks like your corals are fluffy and happy. Being 32gallon, probably need some flow.

As for the light, if it’s not killing the corals and seeing they are encrusting/growing should be okay and if you want, you can upgrade or add extra lights to your current light system.


You want the flow so you don’t have dead spots.

For the flow, I would recommend gyre style pump and have it blowing cross the top.

Just wanna make sure I’m doing everything right as I stated this is my first salt tank. I’m 16 months in. I’m more worried about flow and dead spots and I wanna make sure the lighting is either not too strong or not too low.

You are correct however they like to move around he’s been there for a while, but he has since moved

Again, tank is gorgeous, so there isn't much to do.

Dead spots, you can look all around and see if there are places where detritus is building up. If there are any either adjust where the flow is pointed, or consider adding another powerhead.
