my lineatus have been hiding lately. It seems that he only comes out when I feed the fishes. Is that normal? i got him about 3 weeks ago and for the first two weeks he would be out and swimming and now i don't even see him until I put food in the tank. Please help!!!

They aren't the hardiest of wrasses that is for sure. I've owned 2 now and haven't had any luck keeping them. Is there any fish in these that is bullying him?

yea i have had 3 and they died for different reasons...jumped...sick. I have bunch of other wrasses in there. i have been paying more attention during feedings to see if he's getting picked on.

My super male is doing well but I wonder if it's because I have so many other wrasses

it is typical for wrasses to hide for a extended period of time during acclimation in the DT. mine hide for about a month. i would wait for him to come out to feed the tank and watch to make sure no bullying and that it would eat.

No, that's not normal.

95% chance someone is being a bully.

should i move some rocks around to stir things up???
You could try, but if you're able to pinpoint the aggressor or the lineatus and put either into an acclimation box, you'd be better off.

And how do the existing tankmates act towards him? Any nipping towards him through the box or nuptial displays alongside?

they come up and look at him thats about it. will have to look more carefully. will be too hard to catch the lineatus and put in the box. will try to get the labouti in there though
