SCIENTIFIC NAME –Chaetodon lineolatus

COMMON NAME - Lined Butterflyfish

SIZE – 11.8" (30 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE – 100 US Gal. (379 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING– The Lined Butterflyfish consumes meaty foods, vitamin enriched live brine shrimp, clam, crustacean flesh, mysid shrimp, and frozen preparations for carnivores. Should be fed a minimum of 3 times per day.

REEF COMPATIBILITY – No, will eat both stony and soft coral polyps, sea anemones, and mushroom anemones.

CAPTIVE CARE – The Lined Butterflyfish requires a very large tank with plenty of swimming room for adults. Feeding experiences vary, but smaller specimens tend to acclimate to home aquaria more readily. Once acclimated, this fish is an aggressive feeder and can be kept with other aggressive fish if it is introduced and acclimated first. Only one specimen should be kept per tank, and fish of similar coloration should not be mixed with this fish.
