Anyone have experience with this? I will only consider red tail and blue throat triggers. Wanna have a mix of Dwarf angels with an emperor, Queen, Koran and navarchus.
Miles, Volitans and Russels lionfish.

My emperor nips a lot. Makes sure he's in charge.

My looks coexisted with angels and triggers without issue but I have heard they can be the target of nipping. Never seen it though.

I've seen them housed together as well with no issues. Seems some have better success than others. Always depends on the fish.

With those species of triggers your chances will certainly be better as they're some of the least aggressive.

Sorry to steal this thread but was going to enquirer after people's experiences with the blue-throat trigger and lions but probably already have my answer. My LFS suggested a Harlequin Tuskfish as they've both in same display without hiccup but in long term situation does any believe that we would be a less than ideal with lion fish?
Thanks and sorry (again!)

I kept a volitan with many a variety of triggers, 8 years with a niger and humu. About 3 with a clown, the clown went to a bigger home because of his aggression toward the other triggers. An emporer for 4 years, I put him in a bigger because I just thought he would be happier, this was in a 180g. I grew up in the hobby putting lions in aggressive tanks with triggers and angels and tangs, I never saw any of the nipping everyone talks about now. I know this is just one man's experience but could someone with actual first hand experience, and not just repeating something you heard, chime in and report. I can imagine the lions mane getting nipped in a feeding frenzy but I never saw my angel or one of my triggers maliciously attack a lion.

I’ve kept a lion since it was tiny for several years with a clown trigger, pink tail, niger and blue throat (he replaced a Picasso that passed but was also a lion tank
mate for a year) - initially a 100 then in a 200. Lion is huge now and I never once saw nipping. The clown destroyed my big long spine urchin one day over the course of a couple days but never touched the lion spines.
