Have an order coming today from @LiveAquaria and the UPS Estimated Delivery Time seems really whacky to me. Is this some mistake or is this a new shipping method? I’m used to receiving Live Aquaria shipments at 10:30 am, and concerned that these fish will be very stressed at best and DOA at worst.

I’m on the west coast, so if they arrive close to 7pm, that’s over 24 hours in bags and transit from Wisconsin and Florida.

Check the details, I believe everything ships out of california now, not wisconsin.

Yeah- Only one package out of California. Other two one is diver's den out of Wisconsin and other is ORA out of Orlando.

Hope they come thru OK. Live Aquaria says that it's a UPS issue, but that they (Live Aquaria) ship well enough that delayed shipping is usually OK.

I believe they do “next day” shipping now but no longer by 10:30 am. So yes, expect afternoon or early evening delivery
Unrelated and I apologize for the derail, but WHAT IS THAT CORAL IN YOUR AVATAR! ;Woot

I recently had a Divers Den package come at 4:30 in the afternoon ( instead of the customary by 10:30 ) and all 3 fish were fine.
I was freaking out a little myself, but as long as everything stays warm, should be fine.

LOL... On the right is a purple tipped duncan (survived construction guys leaving power off for 3 days) on the left was a frag of a Confetti that was turning dark blue and bright red. The confetti did not survive. Have some pretty awesome pieces again after rebuild.

Until the 11th i dont think any of the large shippers (ups, fed ex, etc) are guaranteeing a delivery time. Why my poto auction items still have not shipped, though the auction was last week. Might have some part in this.

UPS has been way off lately , I have had issues with regular packages , nevermind live stock

That is a range. Intended is 3pm but they are playing it safe with range.
As long as properly packed 24 hrs would be acceptable. They DO have live arrival guarantee and would likely pack well to avoid claim.
BE SURE TO ACCLIMATE AND ACCLIMATE PROPERLY. Forget bag- pour into bucket and allow to sit at room temp for 20 minutes and then start adding a cup of water every 15 mins 6 times, then allow fish to swim into cup and don't pour but release into aquarium. Netting will add some stress especially if fish get stuck in net.
We readers will be seeking pics later of your new arrivals :=)

Thanks for the tips! I was going to float in my sump and then heavy drip acclimate down to my QT tank. I'll do the bucket method and water pour - have done this in the past, but after such a long journey, I thought float may be best to get temp up.

I'll take pics along the way and upload here.

thanks all!

La is pretty good at letting you know the shipment’s parameters if just shoot an email.
I usually make a tank just for incoming match those parameters, temp acclimate and dump. Avoids any issues of drip acclimation after a long journey.

Thank you for your order! The aquatic life is packed with more than enough oxygen even if delayed. Depending where you are in the country we pack accordingly with heat packs. Allow plenty of time for acclimation and turn off your aquarium lights and subdue the room lights your aquarium is in since the aquatic life has been in total darkness anywhere from 18 to 24 hours by the time you get the package.

UPS has never hit 10:30 for me for the past couple of years.... the livestock has always been fine though.

Everyone OK except Swiss guard. DOA. Really bummed- I’ve wanted one for years.
