I have a tank thats been running 14yrs pest free. I need to add some more rock. My LFS does not have any base rock so I had to purchase live rock. How long do I need to let it set to insure pests are dead? Could I treat the rock or would that be overkill?

I would quarantine like you do your coral. some do FWE on corals for example. but whatever your treatment is in qt and dip.

My LFS is very trustworthy. So if i buy live rubble or rock, it goes straight in. So it really depends on how much you trust your LFS.

I have usually just dropped them right in but don't do like me. Fresh water dip for a extended amount of time or leave them sit outside for about a week. The problem with either method is you will have to cure the rock as wither way will surely have dieoff and depending on the size tank and how much rock you could make you tank go into a cycle
