So I am thinking of doing live sand with a dead rock aquascape. Also adding some rubble. I am doing a nuvo 14 peninsula. My issue is I dont feel like I could do a nice aquascape with live rock from Tampa rock.

Has anyone done this?

That's exactly what I did. It's certainly doable. I used Marco rock with live TBS sand and some TBS rubble.

I did have to supplement nitrate and phos in the beginning while the dry rock was soaking it up.

But the tank is at the one year mark now and no crazy uglies or dinos.... just routine tank ups and downs.

For sure! Get their nano sized rock, or even just some rubble. If you want to do a "fancy" aquascape, you can glue together wet rock if you need to by using regular, non-gel super glue and baking soda as something of a quick set. This works surprisingly well, you just need to rinse off the excess baking soda as that could blow up your alkalinity 🤪

Good luck; please post pics of your 'scape!

I guess I would put rubble in the back middle compartment.

The dead rock was soaking up nitrate and phosphate? I never knew that was possible?
