So I picked up a beautiful lobo last weekend, and its quickly falling apart. Any ideas our thoughts would be helpful as to why this is happening. I'm stumped! But I never want this to happen again and I want a new lobo!

Unfortunately I don't have any reef dip atm, would you suggest a freshwater dip in ro/di? Our simply moving it to minimize stress?

Would just move it. I don't think LPS do well with freshwater dips.

Also maybe it's hungry. I had a LPS start receding on me from lack of food.

uhmmmmmm what was the salt level in the fish store? i no some fish stores keep it at 1.023 and also i think you just got a bad lobo i dont no how long its been in your tank before receding but if it was a few hours check for pests. also as stated low flow shaded area, also as you say you did not dip your coral before putting in your tank, At leaste i think you did that cause you say you have no dip. Its not good to put coral from another member/ vendor/LFS into your tank without dipping you can bring parasites from there tank into yours and you can have a tank crash or flatworms either or. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE DIPPPP ALL YOUR CORAL! if not dont put it in. also

please give us your water condition's maybe your ALK, CAL, MAG is off maybe we can help.

I kno the guy really well, I'm a block away from the shop, always there. He had it for a while, and we both keep the tanks around 1.025, my calcium was 430, mag was 1320, alk was 9. And I could not find any type of parasite on it. And acclimation, I let float for maybe an hour, and drop it in

not being rude. Just a word of advice. Parasites you cant see most of them with the naked eye. Please i dont care if it was the richest man and had the prettiest tank in the world. Its getting dipped and then Put right into the tank. Nothing will go into the tank un dipped. you never know. also its a store... there getting stuff left and right. they don't kill everything that enters there system. i wouldn't even care if the guy lived in the same house as me. no no no dip dip dip.

I get it.. My Octospawn just came down with brown jelly in the last 24 hrs, all the flesh still there, but obviously not happy. And I don't think the lobo has brown jelly, at all. I've already done a lot of research on this, but I trust the Reefers here, what's the best course of action here now?
