Hi all, Hope you're all good and your tanks are thriving this Friday.

I have had this stunning lobo in my tank for around 5 months, and I love it. In that time, it has grown quite a lot, and you can see from the photo below that it is draping / hanging down over the rock it came on.

Do I need to see if I can remove some of the rock it is on so that it can be supported by the sand underneath? Or will it be ok with this drape?

Thank you for looking at my question. :-)

You’re actually going to want to keep it off the sand as it can irritate the soft tissue and cause abrasions and retraction.

The flesh you see is not growth, it’s is tissue expansion. As they get comfortable they expand more. I don’t deny that it’s grown though. The skeleton under the flesh is what grows and it will grow as needed and at a very slow rate.

The skeleton should grow as needed and I would put it on a tile or frag stand to keep the flesh out of the sand.
