Loc-Line Sizing

Before I order replacements was wondering if anyone knew the size of the Loc-Line that comes with a mainland 180 with corner overflows. It has been a long time and I can't find the exact spec.

It should be a 3/4in Snap-Loc brand modular hose. it's very (visually) similar to Loc-Line brand hose, but they are slightly different. Enough so that, genuine Loc-Line will not snap onto Snap-loc brand hose, and vide versa

You'll find Loc-Line at most local fish stores, but not Snap-Loc, other then what comes on Mainland tanks

However, if you need to extent or add to the hose, the modular hose that comes on a Mainland tank is just threaded into standard 3/4in pipe thread. So it's easy enough to replace.

And - please forgive the shameless plug, but our new Flex-Series Random Flow Generator Nozzles will fit both Loc-Line as well as Snap-Loc - since they flex, it can fit both standards. ;-)

Now that is the answer I was looking for. I will see what I can find. Was looking to replace all of it so it is new. At 15 years it is just not pretty at all and has caused a few issues.

In that case, you can usual just place the whole thing starting at the threaded fitting. it'll be 3/4in pipe thread.

Since its 15 years old there a really good chance it may be actual Loc-Line as opposed to SnapLoc.

As far as I can tell, they switched over to the SnapLoc as recently as 7 to 8 years ago. Prior to that, they where using genuine Loc-Line brand on the aquariums and in their hose in their mega overflow kits .
