Long, shallow freshwater tank build

In many of the same ways R2R is also “for beginners” but neither forum is exclusively for beginners. Anyway I have no horse in that race, somewhat selfishly I have been enjoying seeing your build thread progress here :)
That maybe came across as arrogant, I love being a beginner and am so in many of my hobbies. I just meant that I’m mainly here for help with stuff so I would like a forum that (also) have people with a lot of experience.

Hop on over to Scapecrunch! Lot more experienced hobbyists there. We would love to see this build progressing!

Without a weir y@
Thanks, but I was probably unclear. I’m deciding between these options. Is there an advantage of using option B? This is a view from the top. Note that the background will ”leak”. Option A will (also) drain water that hasn’t passed the weir. This is true for B as well, but I think a larger proportion will since it will only drain from the surface.

What do you mean when you say it will leak? As in not fully sealed to the sides and bottom or not water tight FDM print?

Either way, water behind the weir has to have some drop over the weir or it will not provide any surface skimming.

If you explain the design a bit more and we can come up with a solution.
