Hi can anyone tell me why my zoa stalks are so elongated? Also can someone ID these zoas (not the sunny ds).

Tank Paras:
0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 15 ppm nitrates, 0.34 phos, lighting: basic biocube 32 leds

Usually zoa's start extending their stalks from lack if light. Try moving the up in the tank. There are many different zoas, and some require more light than others. In my experience

As the other poster said long stalks means they need more light. Move them up and inch or two. Wait a few weeks and then move them up again if you feel like their stalks are still longer than you’d like.

are long stalks a bad thing?
