I've read about this star dying after six months or so. Anybody keep one long term?
You'd need to specify the species, but I've kept 3 for a year or so...the reason they died was because I was gone on a trip and the guy watching the tank knew very little about keeping aquariums in general...I definitely wouldn't recommend it though, considering the feeding and care you have to give them.

3 of 1 species or multiple species?

I saw a Fromia Monilis for sale and was wondering if anybody kept this or any Fromia long term.

What did the tank sitter do that killed the stars?

What special care did you give the stars?

I don't blame the tank sitter for killing them...their care was simply too much for someone who's never cared for a saltwater tank to carry out.
This was a few years ago, but I recall feeding them daily or every two days, monitoring weight gain/loss, paying special attention to aeration of the tank (which seemed to make a difference), etc.

If you want to read about it, it's published in Ultramarine Magazine Issue #98. That was the first article I wrote, but have since continued and am now a writer and photographer who's written for multiple publications. If you have any questions after reading the article, feel free to DM me.
