Hello Boston Reefers! I'm a Harvard postdoc studying longevity and we're looking to develop a new vertebrate aging model. Turns out gobies of the genus eviota are some of the shortest-lived vertebrates on the planet. We're looking to start a breeding colony of eviota pellucida/atriventris, commonly called the Gold Neon Eviota Goby, to facilitate this research. We had originally identified liveaquaria as a source, set up all our equipment, and then they ran out of stock! I'm wondering if the local Boston Reef Society might know of someone that has these gobies, or ideally, has successfully bred them (supposedly it's easy!). We would be very excited to buy a dozen or so to get our colony rolling.
If anyone has any ideas or contacts for us that might help, please let me know. Cheers and happy holidays!
