I’m looking for a large piece of green star polyp for my back wall! Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you cut the base off a frag and glue it on the back wall it'll cover the wall pretty fast. You'll be cutting it away from the overflow all the time though it grows really fast when established and can become a nuisance.

How long did it take for it to cover your wall?
I'm really not sure TBH. I'm terrible at keeping track of things like that. If I were to guess maybe 2 years ie or a bit less. I was surprised how well it grew. The tank ran very low N and and the GSP was getting blasted with flow and over 500 par of light.
I had to scrape it back from the wier every weeks once it reached that level. I recently took that tank down but scraped all the GSP and placed on on the bottom of my 330g to aee if I can start covering the buttom. I was amazed at the number of pods that were in the GSP even with the polyps retracted. There were hundreds maybe thousands that came falling out when I was scraping it off.

Just get a piece and glue it on the wall at the lowest point you want it and it will cover the wall. It will grow toward the light so that's why you want to place yhe frag low. This grew from a small piece maybe 2"

Ok. Sounds great! I guess I’ll just have to be patient!

I would love to see a photo of your 330g if you wouldn’t mind sharing!

Also just like OP, I’m also looking for a good size GSP carpet to start on my back wall as well 💚 if you ever have need to trim a bit hahah

I’m equally concerned with GSP on the floor since it will make its way to the rocks. I did a small patch many years ago but got sick & tired of reaching all the way down to trim!

Its hard to get a decent FTS but here are 3 showing left center and right.

In my 330 I'm letting everything go where it chooses after I place it. Some will have to figure out boundaries. In a large tank I enjoy just letting things go.

An earlier FTS that in camera AI tweaked a bit
