Looking for fish

I have a 45 gallon aquarium. I have a small clown, a lawnmower blenny and a hifin goby that lives in the filter. I have a skunk cleaner shrimp and a peppermint shrimp, snails and a toadstool coral.

I'm looking for fish to compliment my other fish. Not a showstopper, I'm thinking about getting a dwarf angel, lemon peel or flame back angel or something for that.

I've thought about getting a longnose hawkfish, but I'm concerned about the shrimp. I've heard 6 line wrasses are terrorial jerks. I've thought about cardinals, but I'm not sure.

My future plans are getting a captive bred mandarin. I'm seeding the tank with copepods, a firefish and a dwarf angel.

I'm looking for suggestions on what else I can add to the aquarium. I don't like crabs, they look too much like ticks.

The angels you listed are a good choice depending on what corals you plan to keep. Another option are wrasses, most stay relatively small and come in a magnificent array of colors.

I don't know much about wrasses other than a 6 line wrasse. I'm not sure if I want to keep coral.

Don’t get a 6 line wrasse. They will more likely then not turn into little terrors. Stick with the Paracheilinus species. They are colorful, hardy, and not aggressive to other tank mates.

Ready for ambush, takes the high ground.
Lousy swimmer, but will dart, so likes to perch.

I don't know much about wrasses other than a 6 line wrasse.

A fairy wrasse would be cool. They get like 3 or 4 inches usually.
I have these two coming tomorrow.

Or a hawkfish. They are buttholes too.
One thing I've learned is that peaceful fish cost way less money than aggressive fish.

I love hawkfish but if you have small shrimp or hermit crabs you need to be prepared for some losses.

I had a flame hawk and he was very cool. But he should have been cool in a different tank with other species of his weight class.

I dont think they have a swim bladder. right?
My Flame Hawk has just enough butt to go after something, and after that he would sit there out of gas with food hanging out of his face. They just sink to the bottom if they dont swim.

My shrimp, especially my cleaner shrimp is good size, probably 3 inches plus his whiskers are twice that long. I've heard that longnose hawkfish will kill the shrimp, but they're one of my favorite fish I'd love to keep.

Assessor basslets are great fish. I've only had the yellow and black one's but they were peaceful and always stayed out in the open water. They are both striking fish.

Yup, kinda hops from branch to branch.
Loves to mimick a gorgonian.

It may indeed, just be a prey size issue.

I love this fish way more than the shrimps who bother other stuff.

He has attitude and a ambush type hunter.

I had a flame hawk fish years ago before I did any reading. I thought it would be cool to put a pistol shrimp in with him. The pistol shrimp was as long as the flame hawk if not a little bit longer. The next morning I woke up the flame Hawk is moving his eyes from side to side and two antennae sticking out of his mouth. I swear I heard him say” what shrimp”?
