Hello, I just made 3 screen tops for the new 180. I used aluminium screen frames & netting from BRS. Problem is the top of the tank is over my head. So if I remove the screen ,it's difficult to get it back into place. Here let me show You a pic.

So I used gutter guard across the back for over the back returns etc and can easily cut out more openings in the future I will use a few drops of silicone to hold the guard in place, and easily removed. Ok then the screen was measured to fit. Seeing how I can't see, I want to add some type of guides so when returning the screen it doesn't come out of the channel. The pic shows some aluminum shelf brackets. I could cut them to length and silicone them right at the edge of the channel to guide the screen.
I also am looking for ideas on a mount for a ref light but will start another thread perhaps . Thanks !

Man this place is hoppin at the moment ! By the time I did 2 quick edits it was gone! I just want to know what Ya think about oxidation etc. I suppose I could cut a few slimm sticks of acrylic but this shelf brackets would be a lot easier.

I went ahead and cut to length & siliconed(in 3 spots for easy removal ). works just fine ! Will keep an eye on it for any leeching etc.

I just did this because of this thread haha... I just setup my new build and kept wondering how I was gonna build a top that was small...

added egg crate to half of it then screen to the other half win win :D

Do You want to attach it to the screen or to the back 1/2 of the tank? I decided to fasten it to the tank. I used a couple of dabs of silicone (applied with a tooth pick to the corners & middle) just to hold it secure. If I want to take it out and snip another opening for a power head ,whatever chord it would be easy with a utility knife. I got this idea from somebody elses pic ! worked great for me. let us know what Ya decide to do man .
