I highly recommend buying a captive bred one from Biota.

Wow, I did not realize they were that hard to get!
My best advice to you then, is to find one from a hobbyist and make sure the fish will eat the foods you plan to feed. Wild caught marine bettas *can* be difficult to transition to prepared foods.
