Looking for new tank buddies

Hi there. I have a royal gramma and 3 banggai cardinalfish currently in my 350L/92US gal tank.
I’m looking at getting some maroon clown fish (a mated pair) but I’m worried that they will stress or attack the other fish that are in there. There are lots of hiding spots for both the gramma and banggai to hide if things do get a little aggressive.
Could I have a little advice if this is a good or bad idea to move forward with?

Clownfish are damsels. They can be very territorial. Elliot from Marine Collectors always suggests an acclimation box. I have to agree. It greatly reduces stress and aggression. A nice anemone might distract the clowns. But that is a different challenge.

I did maroons ONCE, decades ago, never again. I stick with ocellaris.

May I ask why you would never again have maroon clowns?

Marrons are the most aggressive of the clowns group. The smaller the tank the bigger the problem will be.
I was helping a person who had a 90 gallon and had two in the tank with several other fish and in under 2 years all that was left was the clowns and everything he tried to put in was murdered. So they got donated to a fish store and have been there for a long time still.
If you going to have them then you need fish bigger or that can stand up to them..
With bigger fish means less in your tank..
I understand they are pretty.

Keep in mind every fish has its own personality but maroons have a reputation for their aggression. Mine killed every fish I tried to add after putting them in the tank. I finally ended up returning them to my lfs.

Thank you. My partner likes the because the size of them. My lfs only have ocelerous clowns, which he thinks they will be too small for the tank, as we’re not looking at getting many more species of fish

My female is about 3”” maybe a little longer. I got her when she was just over an inch about 4 1/2 years ago.

Occellaris will generally be less aggressive than maroons/clarkii complex. Ime, skunk clowns can be a good choice as well. My occellaris are moody these days, but I have had them for years and they really only displayed any sort of aggression once my female began laying eggs. That is my anecdotal experience though, mileage will vary because every fish is an individual and every tank is different.

Also, my clownfish will nip at fish sometimes if they get too close to my mag, but generally only really dislike me. It was a little funny in a sad way because I had to pull my fish out of my tank yesterday and they were making the job of just getting rocks out a pain even with gloves. So I used my hand as bait and the second they swam over to attack me I was able to net the female and then the male in short succession lol. Easiest net job of my life. So a little evil, but i wouldn't trade the world for any of my clowns

Maroons tend to be more aggressive compared to other clowns. Ocellaris are usually more tolerant of other fish.
