Looking for recommendations for an ATO pump on a new Red Sea 500 G3 tank build. My water mixing room and old sump is in the basement where I ran a Genesis storm ATO system. The storm controlled not only the ATO but RO/DI reservoir refill. I am moving the sump location underneath the new display Tank upstairs but want to continue to use the system for reservoir management. I already have plumbing in place that connected the old sump to the old display and plan on using it as a conduit to run tubing down to the water mixing room for both ATO and auto water changes in the new tank. The new power strip and controller will be under the display Tank

I’m looking for an ATO pump that sits outside (or inside?) the new sump and can draw RODI water up from the reservoir. Looking for around 20 ft of head pressure to be safe. Thought about using a ecotech Versa…….i already plan on using a pair for auto water changes…..but that seems like overkill. Any other suggestions?

I think you will need a peristaltic pump like the Versa. You might be able to use something not rated for continuous duty like the BRS 1.1ml/min doser. How are you controlling it? You could get the Spectapure peristaltic G7 ATO

So I’ve heard. I was thinking about programming the outlet to be non-responsive between 2p-10p. That way the pump will primarily function during overnight and daytime working hours. Thoughts?
