I grew this from a small frag and it had yellow tips but after it broke off from the side of my tank it lost its top color.
I moved it but maybe it was in its sweet spot. It's a red and does not have the magenta that this pic suggests (wish it did)

I grew it on my glass side of the tank. But I think my big turbo broke it off. Had it about 2 years but a year after the tank crash and it sat in unstable water for almost a year. Started 2in Frag that was brown so it was in the back of the tank.
Got lucky since it colored up.
I found it face down in the sand and moved it to a lower position.
I don't do any testing so I don't real know.

If you moved it to a lower spot, it's probably getting less light. From what I understand, yellow needs high light.

Do you have a light source that puts out that spectrum? Yellow can be hard on LEDs that are blue-dominant. Have you changed lights since it had the yellow?

Sometimes, it can just take a long while for corals to get 100% back from a bleaching event - I once had a Joes' Rainbow that took almost a year to get the red back after it bleached in my frag tank and it was growing the whole time.

That would be a sweet coral with yellow tips. Did it have the red and that tight growth pattern?

Now I have a question........ were the tips yellow or the polyps?

Having SPS and not testing is like dating Miss Texas and doing the two step with her ;) (don't ask me why Miss Texas, maybe cause I'm married to one:rolleyes:)

Testing is a important factor to know where you're at with your parameters as SPS are some what demanding corals.
That it bleached to a lighter color might not having to do anything with moving or a light but it can have a lot to do with nutrients.
Having no numbers we all going to guess what it could be.
Get some decent test kits, ALK, CAL, MAG, Po4, No3, K.
Not sure if you're dosing 2 part or have a CaRx but we having not much info to go by why your polyps are not extending or the yellow vanished.

Also like to ask you why the coral is damaged so much, as to refer the white between the branches.

That's just some sand . I got a new wrasse and it's looking for a spot.

The tips were mostly yellow and polyps or a light fluorescent green.

I'm just lazy ..lol I have the Hanna kits but most of the reagents would expire before I felt like testing again.
