Low alkalinity affecting PH.

I know that increasing alkalinity will increase pH however is it normal to have a pH of 8.23 in an alkalinity of 7.5 if so how do I maintain pH while raising alkalinity?

I would leave it natural by whatever salt and whatever you were dosing with. Just keep it consistent those are pretty decent numbers.
