So figured id better setup another thread for the lowboy as its start to get rolling now.

50 gallon lowboy
40 gallon breeder sump
Neptune trident
Hydro's X10
Neptune apex
mp-10
bought baffle kit off ebay and glued in for sump, pretty good kit.

Repurposed old cabinet that was getting throw out for my stand.
2 GHL light bar 120, I won one here on R2R thank you again R2R and and GHL and I bought one.
2 Orphek lights 120, I won one here on R2R thank you again R2R and and Orphek and I bought one.
Return pump is a Jeabao DCP 3500 I have decent luck with there stuff.
Top off is a Hydros water valve hooked to my RODI with a plastic float in case it fails. UPDATE: This water valve has already failed 12/05/25 Luckily the cheap plastic float valve stopped it from being a total disaster.

Mostly this is a bank for my main display. I will be doing frags but its a complete separate system from my main display in case I ever have a big crash or anything. And then I'll have copies of all my of corals, in the main tank eventually. And it's so much cooler to be able to look down on top of the coals

The blue is just acrylic house paint even though I cleaned the glass with alcohol I had hard time getting it to stick. The bottom I just spray painted black.
Now that its done I should have added a 3rd drain whole if anyone else is looking at this for ideas.

Looking great, I've always been interested in the Low setups and how they work, following along to learn.

It was little bit of a headache as setting up all new systems are. If I would do it over I would have done three drains instead of two. But other than that I wouldn't really change anything. 40 sump is plenty. Return pump I have is on its lowest setting so prob could have went smaller. Now it just dialing in ammonia to keep my nitrates right since there's no fish in the tank.
Also I tried doing the new fishless cylce using bacteria only,,,,,that just didn't work for me and I ended up just grabbing base rock from the sump in my display. I wasted basically a month trying it the new modern way it just didnt work in my case. Its a way cool setup, I really like it and once I have it 100 percent dialed and start moving the nicer pieces from my main over to it its really going to be cool.

This is what can happen when you transfer OG nuclear greens from one tank to another, they nuked my tank. All the SPS gone and LPS pretty ruff shape also.

I went down this morning and checked on it, it only got worse lol I think most bummed about loosing half my raja it was like 8 inches :( But it doesn't look like any of LPS are totally dead so they should snap back. I was just kind of surprised to see that it had gotten worse I thought they might be looking better. Ill do large water change today, I didnt have anything ready to go yesterday.
