Good morning,

About two years ago I went from a 30 gallon tank to a 80 gallon. Never had any issues with the smaller tank but since I switched over to the bigger tank I haven’t been able to keep LPS on the tank. The LPS only last a couple months and then they die. I have Zoas, mushrooms, anemones and a sea apple that I’ve had for over a year that are thriving.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PO4 .04
NO3 between 2-5
Alk 10.5
Calcium 500
Mag 1500
Salt 1.026
Temp 78

I had the same issue. I just lowered the flow and everything has been growing back

If that ICP test is accurate (may not be), the phosphate is super, super high. Like 5 ppm. Not sure if that's a coral killer, but it might be.
At the time of the test I was feeding reef roids daily and my skimmer wasn’t adjusted properly so it wasn’t skimming anything for a couple months. But did a big water change and brought the phosphate level to .04 and it has been stable at that level since then after adding biopellets. I added a couple LPS after that but still kept dying

Idk how many gallons of a change. But I have a dc and I went down 3 levels. It was definitely a noticeable change of flow
I have 3 MP10. Two on one side and one the other. I have them running in pulse mode at 70%

Even a 100% water change would not have dropped phosphate that much. Either the ICP or the 0.04 ppm test is off.

I also added gfo on a reactor. Since March I’ve been testing phosphate with the Hanna tester. It has been steady at .04 for the last couple of months. Gfo has been completely removed and only running carbon along with a pellet reactor

Then I suspect the ICP value is not correct. Maybe just the wrong units of measure. I've never actually seen a value posted so high, and it would be a big effort to bring it down that much.

But even after phosphate has been steady at .04 LPS still keep dying. I haven’t lost anything else just the lps

Right, I'm not saying phosphate is the issue if the ICP is wrong.

But I don't know what is wrong.
