So I have some what use to be LR in my garage, but is now all dried up and well, regular rock now, could I just put it straight into my reef aquarium or are there any precautions that should be taken ?

Thanks !

I would stip it of the dead stuff on it then If you put it in your running reef it will cause a bit of a diatom algae cycle

It will still be full of dead critters. I would get something that holds water that you could put all the rock in and soak them in ro/di water. Change water out every couple days for a few weeks and it should be good to go

spray it down with a pressure sprayer/hose. soak it in a bucket /w powerhead for a week or 2 with your water from a water change.. if your scared, run some carbon in there..

Yeah I didn't think it would be ok to just put in haha
Thanks for all the advice, I will be starting the soaking process tonight :)

I'd soak it in bleach water for a fish days, rinse i off real good then your good to go. Make sure its just rock, no dead left over stuff
