LTA light requirements

Wondering if this light is good enough or to much for my anemone.

Without knowing what size tank and what kind of anemone you're keeping and how many bulbs you're going to use. I'm going to say no.

Its a LTA (long tentacle anemone) in a 55gal tank. I have a fluval marine and reef 2.0 LED over top and the Kingbo about a foot away from it in front of the tank. The fluval I have on a short timer 8hrs a day in an attempt to control algae so I'm trying to supplement the anemone with the kingbo since they require high light. I'm just not sure its enough and I dont want to kill it.

Without a par meter to know for sure how much light the LTA is getting it's a guess. But if I may, it seems like you're moving up in the hobby in the sense of the livestock you're keeping. The Fluval is a good light if you're keeping fish only or fowler, maybe some basic corals. Instead of supplementing it with another light source maybe look into upgrading the light equipment. External factors may be preventing this but in the long run this is the way to go.

Ok so Standard 50G tank is usually 36x18x18 IIRC,

Best case scenario you are using the 36-46" and it is directly over the nem and is giving you like 50ish PAR.

I use PAR 38 bulbs in my 10G QTs mounted way off the water and they seem to work well in that application for a short period of time. You're using it in front of the glass which has a tendency to throw the light all over the place.

In this case the best I can say is maybe with a very big question mark.

As @Mopartech just said as I was typing this may be a short term solution at best.

Probably 300$ or less preferably.

Ok for that budget I would get one of either of these two then upgrade to a second one as time allows.

You could get by with one hung dead center for a decent period of time which should allow you to save up for a second. Those are two lights I have experience with and would recommend. You can find some cheaper no name black boxes and get two or three in your budget, but I would recommend watching the BRS video and making your own decision on those before purchasing.



Essentially you're looking for the equivalent of about 200-300 PAR on the sand where that Nem sits.
